What is Still Sherpa

Still Sherpa is considered to be an unwanted browser extension that changes browser settings to generate promotional ads. Software like this is usually classified as adware. It creates excessive amounts of ads stacked on top of each other across various websites. In other words, after this unwanted piece gets installed in a browser, the entire search session will be accompanied by intrusive ads preventing users from adequate usage. Even legitimate or ad-free websites will be victimized by the ads of Still Sherpa as well. On the initial basis, Still Sherpa is promoted as a tool for finding content on the Internet. However, it is hard to find any significant value in it. Apart from generating untrustworthy banners and ads, Still Sherpa may also be able to spy on browsing activity. This means its developers may gather your data (e.g. passwords, IP addresses, geolocations, etc.) for financial purposes. In addition to that, there is a chance Still Sherpa was accidentally installed after some unwanted program infected your system. In this case, deleting the unwanted extension may not be enough for complete removal. Thus, we advise you to follow our guide below and learn proper ways of deleting Still Sherpa from your computer completely.

How Still Sherpa infected your computer

Adware and other unwanted types of software are usually spread via so-called “bundles”. These bundles are most often pirated, cracked, or freeware programs spread with third-party offers. Such offers are usually presented inside of “Advanced” or “Custom” sections at some point of installation. People who skip over them will more likely get infected by unwanted software. Sometimes even intentionally disabling third-party offers does not help avoid the installation of unwanted applications completely. Developers of such may be promoting their software in stealth mode without disclosing any information to users. As a rule, the risk of getting infected with potentially unwanted software depends on where you download programs. Some resources are more trustworthy providing better and less bundled repacks of software. Whatever the case, it is important to know that no pirated software can ensure you are protected from risks. Just like any other website, a pirated resource could end up a victim of hackers who inserted some unwanted or malicious software into advertised setups. If you are looking for ways to secure yourself against unwanted and malicious threats in the future, then follow our tutorial below. There is plenty of information on that topic.
