What is Azqt Ransomware

Azqt Ransomware is a malicious software that belongs to the Djvu malware family and is a variant of the notorious STOP/Djvu ransomware. It adds the .azqt extension to the filenames of the encrypted files, for example, changing 1.jpg to 1.jpg.azqt and 2.png to 2.png.azqt. Azqt ransomware generates a ransom note in the form of a text document named _readme.txt. The note explains that all files, including images, databases, documents, and essential data, have been encrypted and directs victims to purchase a decryption tool and a key to regain access to their files. The ransom amount ranges from $490 to $980 in Bitcoins.

The ransom note also provides instructions on how to make the payment and often contains threats of permanent data loss or ransom amounts surge if the ransom is not paid within a specified time. Currently, there is no known free decryption tool available specifically for Azqt ransomware. However, Emsisoft has developed a decryption tool for the STOP/DJVU ransomware family, which may work for some older variants. It is essential to note that paying the ransom is not recommended, as there is no guarantee that the cybercriminals will provide the decryption key or tool. Kill Azqt Ransomware Process

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys simultaneously to open the Windows Task Manager.
2. Select the Processes tab and look for any suspicious processes related to Azqt Ransomware.

5. Now you will be able to delete the file.

1. Login to the DropBox website and go to the folder that contains encrypted files.
2. Right-click on the encrypted file and select Previous Versions.
3. Select the version of the file you wish to restore and click on the Restore button.
