What is JoisApp

JoisApp is a type of malicious software, often classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or potentially unwanted application (PUA). This malware infiltrates computer systems to perform various harmful activities, such as compromising system security, stealing sensitive information, disrupting normal operations, and potentially rendering the system unusable. Once installed, JoisApp exhibits several characteristics typical of unwanted applications. It can hijack browser settings, such as the homepage and default search engine, to redirect users to malicious or advertising-laden websites. It also injects advertisements into websites visited by the user, leading to an increase in unwanted pop-ups and banners. JoisApp may collect sensitive information, including browsing history, search queries, and personal data, which can be sold to third parties or used for further malicious activities. The presence of JoisApp can slow down the computer, cause frequent crashes, and reduce overall system performance.

How JoisApp infected your computer

JoisApp typically infects computers through several deceptive methods. One common method is through phishing emails, where cybercriminals send emails that appear to be from legitimate sources. These emails contain links or attachments that, when clicked or opened, install the malware on the user’s computer. Another method involves malicious websites that automatically download and install JoisApp when visited. These websites may use exploit kits to take advantage of vulnerabilities in the user’s browser or operating system. Additionally, JoisApp often comes bundled with free software downloaded from the internet. Users who do not pay close attention during the installation process may inadvertently agree to install JoisApp along with the desired software. Intrusive ads and redirects also play a role in spreading JoisApp. Clicking on these ads or being redirected to malicious websites can result in the installation of the malware.
