What is Newtab.win

Likewise Newtab.review and Newtab.club, Newtab.win is an unwanted domain that replaces default homepages to impose search and interface changes. It becomes permanently present at each browser setup due to unintentional downloads of browser hijackers. Hijackers are often promoted by rogue desktop applications or browser extensions that configure original settings. Newtab.win tries to look as similar to legitimate engines as possible. It displays a number of popular platforms in tabs (e.g. Facebook, Youtube, Amazon, etc.) helping to access them quickly. Even though Newtab.win seems to generate its own results, it is barely as good and secure as genuinely legitimate platforms like Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Newtab.win and many other hijackers can target all popular browsers including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox. Whenever it comes to dealing with unwanted software, there is always a risk of tracking your data. Developers behind Newtab.win might gather your browsing data (IP addresses, passwords, geolocations, log-ins, etc.) and sell it to third-party figures. This is why there are no reasons to let Newtab.win work on your system as it can bear a number of threats. Make sure to delete it and use only legitimate engines to browse the web. Below, we will show you the necessary instructions to do it.

How Newtab.win infected your computer

As we already mentioned, Newtab.win cannot work on its own. This means there should be some other software prompting such changes. Usually, it is unwanted programs the get inadvertently installed after using pirated or cracked setups from freeware websites. Many users fail to check the whole installation process for additional offers. Sometimes they are hidden inside of “Advanced” or “Custom” sections. In other cases, users may be offered to choose between “Recommended” or “Manual” types of installation. It is advised to always opt for “Manual” types of installation as you will be able to see what is going to be installed beside the main program. Even if you detect no additional software, there is still a risk of catching some unwanted programs at the end of the process. Whenever downloading pirated software, it is important to take their installation carefully – always look for the sections we mentioned above. In order to combat such threats in the future, it is good to have an antivirus equipped up your sleeve to stay informed about potential threats. Below, we will show you the most effective and trusted programs that will help you stay more protected against unwanted activity in the future.
