What is Traffic Junky

Traffic Junky is a legitimate advertising network that is used by website holders for displaying ads and generating profit. However, if your browser is cluttered with dubious ads without your consent, then more likely it is because adware infected your system and modified certain settings. Most extortionists abuse legitimate networks by inserting malicious banners that contain redirects to dangerous domains, especially those running executable scripts to penetrate computers. They bundle customized software into freeware that plagues your browser with multiple ads, surveys, pop-ups, and other intrusive content. If you think that adware-type does not endanger your privacy, then you are totally wrong. Besides spreading deceptive advertisements, adware-type programs can lead to serious privacy issues since they are often capable of collecting personal data (e.g. credentials, IP-addresses, geolocations, passwords) and transferring them to cybercriminals. Considering this, you should get rid of Traffic Junky as soon as possible to prevent inadvertent data leaks.

How Traffic Junky infected your computer

All types of Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) including adware are distributed via questionable ads and bundling. Bundling is a marketing tool used to promote third-parties software along repacks. Such programs are usually freeware that is hosted on multiple websites for monetization purposes. During the installation, people remain blindfolded since they rush till the end of the set-up not spotting additional offers on the way through. As a result, users get puzzled due to unintentional infiltrations that bring fraud necessary information to be shared with other figures. Of course, unwanted apps belong to a minor category of malware that is easily removed, but it is much better to check “Advanced/Custom” sections before you move into the final step of the set-up and allow the adware to penetrate your system as a result.
