What is Newexploit Ransomware
Newexploit is a ransomware virus designed to encrypt PC-stored data and blackmail victims into paying the so-called ransom. Successful encryption is justified after Newexploit changes file extensions to .exploit. For instance, a file like
1.pdf will drop its original icon and change to
1.pdf.exploit. As a result of this, users lose their access to files meaning they are unable to read or edit them anymore. In order to fix it, Newexploit offers its victims to follow instructions written inside of a text note (RECOVERY INFORMATION.txt). This note gets created immediately after successful encryption and contains information on how to recover the data.
YOUR FILES ARE ENCRYPTED !!!
TO DECRYPT, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS:
To recover data you need decrypt tool.
To get the decrypt tool you should:
1.In the letter include your personal ID! Send me this ID in your first email to me!
2.We can give you free test for decrypt few files (NOT VALUE) and assign the price for decryption all files!
3.After we send you instruction how to pay for decrypt tool and after payment you will receive a decryption tool!
4.We can decrypt few files in quality the evidence that we have the decoder.
YOUR PERSONAL ID: -
Cybercriminals say victims should e-mail them and write personal ID in the message. The frauds also promise to decrypt a couple of files without valuable information for free and announce the price of decryption with instructions on how to pay it. After meeting all the requests, cybercriminals should supposedly give the promised decoder to unlock access to data. Unfortunately, not many cybercriminals are 100% reliable meaning there is a risk to be fooled even after sending the money. To avoid this risk and recover your data for free, it is recommended to use backup copies stored on external cloud or physical storage. Alas, trying to use alternative means like third-party tools to decrypt the files is less likely to be a viable solution. This is because Newexploit uses military-grade algorithms and stores its private keys online to prevent users from utilizing free means of decryption. Even so, you can still give it a try unless no other recovery options seem feasible in your case. Note that it is first necessary to delete Newexploit Ransomware and only then try to recover your data in any of the above-mentioned ways. Otherwise, the virus may continue its malicious activity and encrypt other data as well.
How Newexploit Ransomware infected your computer
Ransomware developers use various vectors to spread their malware – through e-mail spam letters, malicious software updates/installers, fake license cracking tools, trojans, phishing pages, unprotected RDP configuration, vulnerabilities of NAS/QNAP devices, and other susceptible channels like that. Some of them like NAS/QNAP vulnerabilities are independent of users – there have been actual cases when these devices had temporary security issues which allowed cyber crooks to attack the systems remotely. Despite this, the majority of users is still more likely to be infected due to their own negligence or inexperience. This is especially seen when users get curious and open attachments within e-mail spam letters. Many cybercriminals abuse this method to deliver malicious files (Word, Excel, PDF, EXE, JS) or links disguised as something legitimate. Beware of them and never open content you are not familiar with. This should apply to whatever you do around the web – being conscious and careful is always a rule to stick by whenever running online activities.

How to protect computer from viruses, like Newexploit Ransomware, in future
1. Get special anti-ransomware software
Use ZoneAlarm Anti-Ransomware
Famous antivirus brand ZoneAlarm by Check Point released a comprehensive tool, that will help you with active anti-ransomware protection, as an additional shield to your current protection. The tool provides Zero-Day protection against ransomware and allows you to recover files. As an additional way to save your files, we recommend online backup. Local storage, such as hard drives, SSDs, flash drives, or remote network storage can be instantly infected by the virus once plugged in or connected to. Newexploit Ransomware uses some techniques to exploit this. One of the best services and programs for easy automatic online backup is iDrive. It has the most profitable terms and a simple interface. You can read more about iDrive cloud backup and storage here.
3. Do not open spam e-mails and protect your mailbox
Malicious attachments to spam or phishing e-mails are the most popular method of ransomware distribution. Using spam filters and creating anti-spam rules is good practice. One of the world leaders in anti-spam protection is MailWasher Pro. It works with various desktop applications and provides a very high level of anti-spam protection.
