What is Razor Web

Razor Web by Yontoo Technology Inc is adware and potentially unwanted program (PUP) in form of add-ons for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. It is not a virus, but can be a real headache. Main functionality of this piece of software is to generate and display ads, banners, pop-ups to user. This advertising may be based on habits or content users are interested in, but those ads are not affiliated with the sites you visit. “Ads by Razor Web” or banners “brought by Razor Web” hover over web pages and distract user. This is done by installing Razor Web extensions in browsers. To get rid of ads you need to remove Razor Web files and add-ons. In this tutorial I will show how you do it.

How Razor Web infected your PC

Razor Web spreads via bundled installation of free programs. Most of the free programs (maybe except open source) are packed with third-party utilities and tools, mostly adware or scare-ware. This is how developers monetize free traffic. Free cheese is only in the mouse trap. But most of the users worldwide forget about this and ignore basic security rules needed to operate your PC. Do not install software from untrusted sources, read user agreements, decline all additional offers as in 99% of cases they are useless. Use antivirus software, and one of the best to protect you from threats like Razor Web is SpyHunter 5.
